As digital games become the dominant form of entertainment, we begin to see their footprints anywhere; In education, marketing, business, social applications and digital products. If it is interactive, it can, and will, be gamified.


In the Game Thinking workshop you will learn a new approach to product design, and learn how to use gaming principles to design functional, engaging, non-game apps and features.

WORKSHOP BREAKDOWN

Part I: Creating your first game.
The best way to understand how games work is to create them. Grab your pencils, get your tokens ready and let’s go!

  • Game Design fundamentals: 5 principles of games. 

  • Player experience Vs. User experience

  • Meaningful choices and how they translate to Game Design

 

Part II: Motivation and a dash of player psychology.
Learn how to link your newfound knowledge to actual human endeavors
 

  • Four types of players

How long is the workshop?

3-5 hours, depends on the client availability and needs.

Can we modify some of the workshop's content to fit my team's needs?

Certainly.

What is the price?

The quote varies according to the number of participants and modifications needed. But don't worry, you won't lose your pants over it.

Do you conduct this workshops for individuals as well?

Not at the moment. I'm focusing on company training.

WHO AM I?

My name is Dori Adar. I'm the founder of Hands on Games, a gaming school and a consulting firm. I teach people how to design games and work with tech companies on making their products fun and more engaging. 

I have more than 15 years of Public Speaking and gave talk at the world's biggest stages; TEDx Vienna, Peach Kucha TLV, Casual Connect and more.
